CA Asian American & Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus & Chair Evan Low Welcomes the Largest Gathering of AAPI Public Officials in the Country
SACRAMENTO — Tomorrow the California Asian American & Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus (AAPILC) Foundation kicks-off their 2023 AAPI Leadership Summit which is the largest gathering of Asian American & Pacific Islander public officials in the country. Over 250 AAPI officials and leaders are coming together at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel for two days – September 7 and 8, 2023 - for networking, panels, and workshops with some of the nation’s most powerful AAPI leaders.
Some of the many attendees include: United States Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai, California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Congress Members Judy Chu, Ro Khanna, Ted Lieu and Doris Matsui, a delegation of the Hawai’i State Legislature led by Senate President Ronald D. Kouchi, AAPI Legislators from the states of Georgia, Minnesota, New York, Nevada, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Washington, and Members of the California AAPI Legislative Caucus including Caucus Chair Evan Low.

AAPILC Chair Assemblymember Evan Low (D-Silicon Valley) said: “I am excited to host the inaugural AAPI Leadership Summit and so many of our country’s esteemed Asian American and Pacific Islander leaders in order to continue to empower more AAPIs to run for elected office and ensure our communities are represented across all sectors and industries. As California is home to one-third of the nation’s AAPI population, it is appropriate that we host and help lead the conversation and efforts to best serve, represent and advocate for our communities and all Americans.”
